house1.jpg (21760 bytes)  Welcome to the hobby of collecting dollhouse miniatures and collectible treasures, a hobby enjoyed by enthusiasts of all ages. Some miniatures are designed especially for children, but most collectors are adults who enjoy interior decorating, recreating history, fine furniture reproductions, and collecting and crafting miniatures. Today, the miniatures market provides affordable miniatures for all age groups!

Interior decorating is the focal point of the dollhouse miniatures hobby. There are a multitude of miniature items available to decorate dollhouses and roomboxes, including beautiful printed wallpapers, plush carpeting, furniture, draperies, building supplies, electric lights and household accessories for every room in the house. Everything in the real world is available in miniature!

house3.JPG (22225 bytes)      Have you always wanted a Victorian or Country dollhouse with gingerbread trim? Or, are you a collector of small items for wall displays or curio cabinets? You can create displays one room at a time, buy items for theme displays, select items for a special glass case, collect dolls or start your 14-room dream dollhouse today.

Custom-made miniature displays can become a priceless, personal gift for friends and relatives: a wedding day vignette, a reproduction of grandma's sewing room, a 40th birthday remembrance, a beautiful wall display case (filled with collectibles), or a dollhouse for Christmas for that special grandchild. Give a gift that will never be forgotten or hidden away in a closet! For your next special holiday or event, think of giving a miniature.

Scale is important in miniature collecting. Miniatures are exact reproductions of full-size items, proportionately reduced. Scale is expressed as 1/12th scale or 1" = 1'. One-inch scale is employed in most of the miniatures featured in shops and catalogs.

furniture3.jpg (16382 bytes)     It's easy to convert scale in this hobby, simply substitute inches for feet. Thus, a five-foot long table becomes a five-inch long table in miniature. Miniatures are available in even smaller scale than one inch, look for half-inch and quarter-inch scale too.

Start your miniature collection today. You can build everything yourself using kits, or purchase ready-made furniture and accessories. Stop by your local miniatures shop and look over the world of miniatures. A world you'll learn to love and enjoy for the rest of your life!
